GooseAlien - The Team

Welcome to the Alien-team! These are our team members:

Sanna Majaneva

Sanna Majaneva, postdoctoral researcher at UiT the Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, with a background in marine ecology and physical geography. She completed her PhD at the University of Helsinki in Finland in 2014 on the role of ctenophores in Arctic and Baltic marine ecosystems. She is interested in Arctic ecological interactions; in their structured and functioning, especially in different spatio-temporal scales and interactions which have drawn less attention previously. In addition, she has a strong interest in methodologies and in combining ecological, morphological and molecular information.

Aino Hosia

Aino Hosia is a researcher at the University Museum of Bergen. She is interested in the ecology and systematics of gelatinous zooplankton, or all kinds of jellyfish. Her previous projects have focused on e.g. ecology and diversity of gelatinous zooplankton along the Norwegian coast and in the North Atlantic, as well as distribution and ecosystem effects of the invasive ctenophore Mnemiopsis leidyi in Norwegian waters. Currently she is a PI of Hydrozoan pelagic diversity in Norway (HYPNO) project as part of the Norwegian Taxonomy Initiative. She also works as the Bergen coordinator for the ForBio research school in biosystematics. See profile: http://www.uib.no/en/persons/Aino.Hosia#uib-tabs-research
